Silken Thread 2011 Petit Verdot
Worth waiting for
A native of Bordeaux, Petit Verdot has found a spiritual home on the pale red gravel hills at Apple Tree Flat, just south of Mudgee. Cool nights and warm days gently ensure the slow-growing dark berries have all the time they need to concentrate their juice, and ripen their powerful flavours.
Inky black colour, with aromatic notes of violets and vanilla bean, you'll soon discover blueberries, plums and forest fruits lingering with a soft, silky mouth feel. This wine's been a long time in the making. But that's the very essence of its charm. Savour it with friends, over time.

"Wow, where has this been hiding ? Petit verdot sounds so French and alluring and this one tastes it too. Have it with Midnight in Paris. 9.2/10". Max Crus (aka Simon Hughes), Grape Expectations, Jan 2013.
"Let's not bugger around, if this is closer to $40 than $30 it will still be a bargain. Fantastic wine. 94 points now with a couple more to come". Key Review of Wine, Sep 2012.
